Andrew WK Touring For 10 Year Anniversary of "I Get Wet"

I Get Wet is an american treasure. Without a doubt, one of mankind's greatest accomplishments. I dare you to throw that album on and not have fun. It isn't possible.

Anyway, right now, Andrew WK (or at least a reasonable facsimile?) is touring the US (and then Europe), on his first headlining tour in years. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of I Get Wet, he will be playing the album, in its entirety, every night of the tour. This is good news. This is very good news.

On a related note, I am going to an Andrew WK concert tonight, in which I will be hearing him perform I Get Wet, in it's entirety.

AWK Brilliance after the jump

For those who have either:
     A) Never heard Andrew WK
                       or
     B) Never realized how brilliant Andrew WK is, despite having heard him before,

Andrew WK is kind of hard to explain without actually experiencing it for yourself. Basically, it's epic, inspirational music about partying. Like, be the best you that you can be, never give up, live your dreams, and also totally party all the time. It's kind of like Bill 'n Ted's motto, "Be excellent and... Party on dudes!," put into musical form. Really fun musical form.

The thing is, his songs mostly sound pretty similar, are pretty simple, and use the word "Party" more than you would think possible, yet somehow they still incorporate little bit of subtle neo-clacissism. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that this is Rhapsody of Fire or early Sonata Arctica or anything like that, but there are a few subtle touches. And it just works.

Here is a sample of the crazy brilliance that is Andrew WK. Listen to it and smile.
