Capcom is Totally Punk Rock - The New (old) Mega Man

So Capcom just released screenshots to announce some of the new characters for their upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken game. And one of them is Mega Man. He has showed up in a few of these crossover games in the past, so nothing too out of the ordinary there. But just take a look at his design in the new game:

If you aren't sure why this is amazing, take a look at the original box art for the first NES Mega Man game:

Capcom has been taking flak for this box art for years. Nearly any feature about bad video game box art will feature this image, and it isn't hard to see why. It's almost as if the artist behind this masterpiece had never seen, or even heard anything about the game. It would be hard to come up with something that represented the game or the character less than this image does.

So what does Capcom do with Mega Man in their new game? Use that same infamously crappy image as their character design. That, my friends, is totally punk rock.
